Title
Snipe Hunting
Subject
Events; Red Bay, AL; Franklin County, AL
Description
A popular sport among the children of Red Bay was "snipe hunting." The hunts would always take place at night on a new moon. The "hunter" is armed with a tow-sack. This weapon is used to catch the "snipe" once it escapes the safety of its domicile. Groups always invited someone who had never been snipe hunting and the victim was left out in the woods looking for the elusive (and imaginary) snipe!
