Title
Gypsies in Red Bay
Subject
Events; Red Bay, AL; Franklin County, AL
Description
Gypsies near Red Bay would set up camp near the edge of the town or in rural areas near farm houses. They traveled by covered wagon and could be heard for miles with the clinking of their cookware and barking dogs. When the Gypsies set up camp, they would become mobile traders. Wares were traded for food, such as chickens, eggs, milk, and other farm products. People of Red Bay had no idea where these mysterious traders originally came.
