Description
Bride's Hill is a plantation located in Wheeler, Alabama. It is one of the earliest examples of a Tidewater-type cottage. Constructed in 1830 by the Dandridge family, the house was developed with a double-square formula that was used by colonial Virginia house builders. There was a separate brick kitchen that stood close to the rear of the house.
In 1907, the house and surrounding farm became known as Sunnybrook. Bride's Hill was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 9, 1986.
