Murphy's Chapel Cemetery is located ½ mile east of Alabama Highway 20, on Lauderdale County Road 8 at Murphy's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church northwest of Florence, Alabama.
The oldest known grave is that of a Confederate soldier buried in 1861. A woman by the name of Katie
K. Jones is the oldest known person buried here, having been born in 1792.
Some graves are probably much older than those listed. There are war veterans from the Civil War to the Korean War. The cemetery has a record of 738 graves.
