On February 18, 1965, Leroy Moton, a high school student, was arrested in Marion, Alabama for while walking down a city block and thrown in jail. He joined the march in Selma, Alabama, serving as a member of the leadership team, during what became known as Bloody Sunday. Moton was also in the car with Viola Liuzzo the night of her murder.
