The building was built for a man named Sam Henry. A.B, Hammer then purchased the building and started the Hammer Department Store. The store has now expanded into adjacent buildings. The store name was changed to Fant’s Department Store in 1996. It is located at 355 North Gunter Avenue Guntersville, Alabama.
