Records preserved at the archives include those of the Circuit Court, Probate Court, Board of Registrars, Tax Assessor, County Commission, and Board of Education. The Archives also contains historical and genealogical material that deals with Northern Alabama and the Southern Tennessee Region. It also contains personal family histories, family photographs, and microfilmed newspapers. Limestone County purchased the 1905 L&N Depot in 2004 and remolded it to house the Archives today.
